A Dry Post Mostly Consumed with Details About What I'm Eating

The evening snack I made for Sam last night. It inspired today's meal plan.

Hi, I made it so anyone can comment on the blog. Before you had to have some type of ID. Sorry, I didn't realize that was the case. Also, I fixed the time zone problem. It had been Pacific since I started the blog, and I just started playing around with the settings and found the option by accident.

Writing blogs in the morning is hard, because I have a tendency to zone out. Now it's almost 8, and I need to leave. I use the word "zone" too much.

"Toddler's Delight" is a reference to a comment my mother made about my son Sam's food last night. I intentionally increased my calories and carbs and decreased my fat (as a percentage) from the day before. I don't have time to go into that part. Also, no P90X this morning. I woke up a little too late for that.

Argh, I better go. Toodles.

  1. They've got me on a paleolithic diet, basically if you can kill it or pick it you can eat it. Seems I'm pre-diabetic, and my diet already was somewhat low in carbs and high in protein. So this is kinda taking it to an extream, but I've lost 5 pounds since starting it and do feel better.

  2. I just realized that I need to drop a few pounds to get my BMI back on track, but when I tracked my calories, I was still under 1600 and many days under 1400. Added in a 1 mile dog walk in the mornings and seem to have leveled everything out. It's just crazy how tracking calories REALLY keeps you accountable on what you're actually eating. I love using the Lose It app on my iPhone to track calories. Makes it so much easier. Good luck on the restrictions you've been following.

  3. Hey Kyle. Did your doctor recommend that diet? The most recent study I recall promoted low-fat, plant-based for diabetes. With that said, I only heard about the study through vegan friends, so it's clearly not overtly objective or representative: http://diabetes.webmd.com/news/20081001/vegan-diet-good-type-2-diabetes

Then again, this is also for full-on diabetics. I don't know if that would make a difference.

Take heart, Alyson, in terms of knowing that hormones probably affect one's tendency to gain or lose.
